Angel Biscuits

I remember having these quite a bit around the holidays.
They were always a big hit and
rarely made it past dinner.
If any did, a little mouse that looked
a lot like me, would find their way
into the kitchen that night and finish them off.

Spoon Rolls

You know these originated in the south.
The sugar gives it way every time.

Rose Rondinelli's Hungarian Bread

I'm not sure who Rose was but her Hungarian Bread recipe
got the attention of the local paper and my granny.
Kudos to you Rose indeed.

Angle Bisquits

I really have no idea who typed this.
I highly doubt it was my granny.
Not because of the hilarious grammatical errors.
She was just more of a write it down kinda person.
I swear all I can I can envision in my head
are little "L" shaped nuggets of bread.

Broccoli Bread

I'm not a broccoli hater and I'm all about a good bread.
That being said, this one seems a tad sketchy to me.
Proceed with caution.

Shelia Neighbor Corn Bread

Shelia was my granny's oldest daughter.
She moved around a lot so it's a
miracle that we even knew where she was living
much less to get to know one of her neighbors.
Apparently this was one heck of a cornbread recipe.

Mexican Corn Bread

I'm starting to think that my granny had a real thing for
Mexican corn bread.
I remember it showing up on her table
more than a few times.
I still love it myself...

Ellen Beck Golden sesame Loaves

Mrs. Beck at it again.
I kinda find it interesting that more than a few times my granny figured
out how to make recipes produce more quantity.
She lived alone for years but was surrounded by
a great cast of friends and family.
Cooking was very much a second language for her.

Mexican Corn Bread

Here's the ingredients...
Let's see how skilled you are to figure out the rest!

Yeast Bread

I think this recipe saw a lot of work in its hey day.
Nice for it to see the light of day again.

Mrs. Beck's Bread

Later in life, my granny's friend, Mrs. Beck, had a
substantial influence in her cooking.
I was often their test subject.
Being the resident grandchild in the apartment complex
my granny lived in had its definite advantages.

Spicy Tomato Mini-Loaves

I'm so conflicted with this recipe.
There's so many things right and wrong about this one.
Everything is better as a mini but tomato in a bread loaf with corn flakes?
This one is definitely for the more adventurous food scientist.

Quick Rolls

It seriously doesn't get much simpler and quick than this.

This is the first green box recipe we've tried as a family.

The mixture was more like a batter than a dough.

We doubled the ingredients and it created a dozen of these puppies.

14 minutes later and WOOHOO!!!  Nom Noms!!!

These are more like biscuits than rolls so we decided to slap some sausage on them.

Look at that inside...LOOK AT IT....

These scored a resounding 4 thumbs up from the Christian household!

Mods:
We used equal parts of half and half and skim milk.
Baked them for 14 minutes and then broiled for 2 minutes to brown the tops.

The updated recipe:
1 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup milk (we used a blend of skim milk and half and half)
2 tablespoons mayonnaise

Mix all ingredients and divide evenly into a buttered muffin tin and bake at 400° for 12-14 minutes. Then broil for a couple of minutes to brown the tops. Makes 6 muffin sized biscuits.

Final Thoughts:
Super easy to make
Very tasty
Instantly a new favorite for the family
4 thumbs up

Corn Bread

Sometimes you just gotta take it back to the basics.

Light Buttermilk Pancakes

Let's be honest, a stack of these are tasty anytime of the day.

Bishop's Bread

This sounds suspiciously like the dreaded fruit cake but I'll let you be the judge.

Broccoli Corn Bread

Apparently this recipe needed to be sealed for freshness.
